Deleting your account and your data

This page explains how to delete your Nature Websites account, and how to delete individual photos and other data without closing your account. It covers both the website at naturewebsites.com and the Nature Websites mobile app for Android and iOS, both operated by Orlando Prugel-Bennett, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

Deleting your whole account
If you can sign in
- Open the Nature Websites app and tap Manage my site, or go to dashboard.naturewebsites.com in any browser.
- Sign in with your email address and password.
- On the dashboard home page, scroll to the Account Settings card.
- Press Permanently Delete Account.
- Confirm your account details when asked. This re-authentication step exists so nobody else can delete your account.
- Complete the confirmation within one hour. After that the request expires and nothing is deleted, so you can start again safely if you change your mind.
Deletion begins immediately once confirmed. Your website stops being served straight away.
If you cannot sign in
Email info@naturewebsites.com from the email address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. Tell us the email address and, if you know it, the address of your website.
We will confirm your identity, delete the account, and reply to confirm. We aim to do this within 7 days and will always complete it within 30 days.
What is deleted, and what is kept

| Payment records — subscription status and invoices | Kept for 6 years. We are required to retain these under UK tax and accounting law. They are not used for anything else, and they contain no card details — payments are handled by Stripe, which receives your card details directly and never passes them to us |
| Visit counts | Kept as anonymous totals only. These are plain counters — page views and unique visit numbers — with nothing in them that identifies you or any visitor |
| Backups | Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle and are fully cleared within 90 days of deletion |
Account deletion is permanent. We cannot restore a deleted account, its photographs or its website, so please download anything you want to keep first.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove content. Signed in to the app or to dashboard.naturewebsites.com:
Photos and videos
Go to Manage Photos. Select one or more images and press Delete Selected, or open a single image and press Delete. The original file, every thumbnail and any video versions are removed from storage, and the space is returned to your allowance.
Albums
Go to Albums to delete an album. You choose whether to delete the photographs inside it as well or keep them in your library.
Your website or a connected domain
Go to Domains to disconnect a custom domain or remove a site, leaving your account and photographs in place.
App notification data
Turn notifications off in the app, or uninstall the app, and the push token and device record for that device are removed. You can also turn off notifications for the app in your phone's own settings.
Anything else
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to delete, correct, restrict or export any data we hold about you. Email info@naturewebsites.com and we will respond within one month.
